The Zsolnay brand is renown worlwide. One thinks of colorful decorative objects and special porcelain architectural ornaments. However, it is little known that the pink glazed crafts produced between the 1850s and 1900 which was fairly popular in their age, did not only grounded the fame of the Zsolnay factory but became a crucial part of European design. The lifetime-spanning collection of Barnabas Winkler started 50 years ago by an encounter with a pnk wine pitcher. The volume introduces the long-forgotten pink glazed Zsolnay series through the collection of over 1500 pieces and comic and ironic personal stories of collecting.
