On historical terrain. Hungarian- American photographs, Hungarian- American photographers, 1890–1940
presenter ethnographer Fejős Zoltán
Does the emigrant, the expatriate have a face, an image? The complex relationship of spatial movement, migration and photography are not only exciting questions in today’s climate. Emigration to the United States at the end of the 19th century and early 20th century was a good example of the photographer’s complex role in migration. The lecture/conversation approaches “America-photography” through the findings of several decades of research, including a new research project.
