Exhibition of the Society of Hungarian Painters

opened and guided by Ferenc Matits, art historian
on the vernissage István Grencsó plays music

Door, window: architectural elements, apertures on the wall, on the building. Symbols of transition. In-out, output-input, cordial-hostile, known-unknown, living-dead. Light-dark, day-night, yesteryear-next year. The door, the gate and the window connect, let through, but also divides, shut out and down. The passage overthe doorstep and the infiltration through the ledge are risky, might be dangerous, but might bring joy either. “The golden gate is open…” In some myths it symbolizes the crossing between the Upper World and the nether.

74 artists’ 77 works are on display out of the 110 contestants and their 232 artworks.

The online vernissage takes place on April 23, at 18.00 on FUGA YouTube channel:
