The film by Tony Scott from 1983 with its strong atmosphere features the international stars of the time in strange roles. Miriam, the vampire originating from the ancient Egypt (Catherine Deneuve) and her lover John from the 18th century (David Bowie) are hunting for victims in the bars of New York. One day the man is frightened to discover the signs of aging on his body and seeks out for a gerontologist (Susan Sarandon), who is searching for the antidote for aging …

The work of the legendary makeup, Dick Smith contributes to the smoky-shadowy atmosphere of the film, and he was mentioned as makeup illusions in the cast. Smith was the makeup for the films like The Godfather, The Exorcist and Amadeus, and was the master of world-known makeups as Rick Baker (An American Werewolf in London), Kazu Hiro (Darkest Hour), and the Hungarian Iván Pohárnok (Taxidermia).
