Györgyi SZAKÁCS (costume designer)
Demimonde takes place in Budapest before the First World War; it tells the last days of the well-known courtesan, Elza Mágnás. Screenwriter Norbert KÖBLI reconstructed the events of the brutal murder from archived newspaper articles, and created a fictional, even more tense version of the story. The crime movie authentically portrays the period and features powerful performances by Patrícia KOVÁCS, Dorka GRYLLUS, Laura DÖBRÖSI, János KULKA ad Péter SÁNDOR as well as impeccable costumes by Györgyi SZAKÁCS (Daniel Takes a Train, Idő van, Sunshine, Jadviga’s pillow, Taking Sides , Eszter’s Inheritance, Fateless). Besides Demimonde, we will talk to the multiple award-winning costume designer about her profession, the difference between TV and feature films, and many other exciting topics.

Who do costume designers need to cooperate with before and during the production? Where does their inspiration come from? How well do costume designers need to know the film’s story and characters?
